Your data

Delete your account

Two ways to remove your Amara account and everything attached to it.

Back to home

You can delete your Amara account at any time, without asking us first and without explaining why. Deletion is permanent and immediate.

Before you delete: you don't need to delete your account just to stop the daily prompts. If you only want a break, change your check-in settings in the app instead - deleting is permanent, pausing isn't.

From inside the app

  1. 1Open Amara and go to the Settings tab.
  2. 2Tap Manage account.
  3. 3Scroll down and tap Delete account.
  4. 4Read the confirmation, then tap Delete. You may be asked to sign in again to confirm it's really you.

That's it. Your account is erased straight away - there is no waiting period and no recovery window.

By email

If you can't reach the app (for example you've lost the device), email amara@brilicept.com from the address on your Amara account and ask us to delete it. We'll verify it's you and confirm once it's done.

What gets deleted

Your profile
Name, email, country, time zone, and date of birth.
Your codes
The hashed check-in code and panic code.
Your contacts
Every enrolled contact, their details, and their link to you. Anyone relying on you as their contact is told the link has ended.
Check-in history
Every check-in and every past escalation record.
Health profile
Any encrypted health notes you added.
Pending escalations
Cancelled immediately, so no alert can reach anyone after you delete.
Sign-in credentials
Your Amara login is removed, including any Google or Apple link.

What we keep, and why

We keep a minimal record that an account was deleted, and when. It contains no personal detail beyond that and exists so we can answer questions about the deletion later, or meet a legal obligation. We may also keep information where the law requires it - for example transaction records where a payment was made.

This cannot be undone. Deleting removes your safety net. Once it's gone, no one will be alerted if you stop checking in. If you rely on Amara day to day, consider telling your contacts before you delete.
